<Support for Ukrainian residing in Japan>

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched military operations against
Ukraine, and instability in Ukraine has continued.
The Immigration Services Agency of Japan will make appropriate
decisions on residence permits for Ukrainian residents who are
apprehensive about returning to Ukraine, so that they can continue to
remain in Japan. Even those who have been issued a written
deportation order will not be deported against their will.
As long as the situation in Ukraine is not deemed to have improved,
we will continue this policy.
For Ukrainian who wish to continue residing in Japan due to the
unrest in Ukraine, please consult your nearest Regional Immigration
Services Bureau.
Also, those who are engaged in activities based on their current
status of residence may continue to reside in Japan under their current
status of residence.
